
Dulce De Leche French Toast

Ingredients
French Toast Custard
- 150ml plant milk based milk
- 20ml maple syrup
- 1tsp of vanilla extract
- 20g salted caramel protein
- 2 tbs chickpea flour (or corn starch)
- 6 pieces of low gi white bread
- nuttelex / vegan butter *
To Serve
- 1 banana
- Loco Dairy Free Thickened Creamy
- 1tbs icing sugar
- 1 tbs Biscoff spread melted for 30 secs in the microwave or caramel
Method
- Firstly Whip a 1/4 cup of your thickened creamy with 1 tbs of icing sugar. Once nice and thick place in the fridge.
- In a wide bowl make you custard by whisking milk , maple syrup & vanilla extract . Once smooth add in flour & protein. Whisk vigorously until combined.
- Heat a non stick pan with 8g butter, Dip 2 pieces of bread in the custard to lightly cover each side, place on the pan . Cook one side for 3-4 mins over medium heat and the other side for approx 2 mins. Repeat. Use 8g butter per serve which is 2 pieces of bread. (the custard can be covered and placed in the fridge to use the next day if you don’t use it all)
- Slice your banana long ways and lightly grill with a smidge of butter or coconut oil until golden.
- Layer your french toast & garnish with your thickened creamy, Caramelised banana (or strawberries), followed by your melted biscoff 👌🏻 Enjoy
